GŁOS W SPEKTRUM

Agnieszka Chmiel

Educator, coach of neurodivergent people and co-author of the book "Autistic. Analysis without anesthesia"

I specialize in education, coaching and creating tools to support neurodivergent people, especially people on the autism spectrum, their families and specialists.

I combine substantive knowledge with my own experience of an autistic person. I create a space based on respect, understanding and searching for solutions that respond to the real needs of a person.

Who am I?

My name is Agnieszka Chmiel. I am a person on the autism spectrum, an educator, a neurodiversity trainer, a coach and a co-author of the book "Autistic. Analysis without anesthesia".

For several years, I have been consistently developing activities dedicated to neurodivergent people, their families and specialists. I run a Głos w Spektrum blog, create educational materials, original support programs, exercises, worksheets, webinars and publications.

At the centre of my work is a person – his individual way of perceiving the world, needs, possibilities, difficulties and the right to live without constantly adapting to the expectations of the environment.

I don't look at neurodiversity only from the perspective of theory. I combine knowledge with the experience of living on the spectrum. Thanks to this, I create solutions that are to be useful not only on paper, but above all in everyday life.

My perspective

For many years, I tried to understand a world that often seemed too loud, too fast, and based on rules that no one explained directly.

The diagnosis has not changed who I am. However, it has allowed me to name many experiences, organize my own story and look at myself with more understanding.

Today, I use this perspective in my educational and coaching activities. I don't assume that all people on the spectrum experience the world in the same way as I do. However, personal experience helps me to see issues that may remain invisible from a purely theoretical perspective.

I create a space where you don't have to prove that the difficulty is big enough and the need is important enough. Instead, you can look for ways of functioning together that are consistent with your own nervous system, boundaries and values.

Education and professional development

The most important element of my professional preparation is the completion of the Neurodiversity Trainer certification course organized by the International Association of Therapists. I completed the course with honors.

My experience also includes many years of work in the field of communication, copywriting, content marketing, SEO and educational content design.

I currently use these competencies to create materials, publications and tools to support neurodivergent people, their families and specialists.

INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT

Are you looking for support tailored to you?

I provide neurodiversity coaching for adults, adolescents, parents and caregivers.

During the meetings, we can work, among other things, on a better understanding of our own needs, overload, setting boundaries, self-acceptance, relationships, communication, functioning at work and finding ourselves after the diagnosis.

Coaching is not about adapting a neurodivergent person to the expectations of the environment. Its goal is to find solutions that take into account their real needs, capabilities and way of functioning.

BOOK

"Autistic. Analysis without anesthesia"

I am a co-author of a book written together with psychologist Paweł Pflegl and published by Wydawnictwo Kobiece.

The publication combines two complementary perspectives: personal experience of life on the autism spectrum and psychological knowledge.

It is a book about everyday functioning, relationships, emotions, communication, health and experiences that often remain invisible to those around them.

Expert publications

I am the author of articles published on the Special Pedagogy – Portal for Teachers. I write about the practical aspects of supporting children and young people on the autism spectrum.

  • "Silence as a tool – how not to talk to a child with sensory hypersensitivity"
  • "How to support a student on the autism spectrum without excessive control? The border between help and invasiveness"

Values on which I base my work

Respect

Each person has their own needs, capabilities, boundaries and pace. There is no one right way to function.

Cooperation

Support should not be about taking control, but about finding solutions together.

Practicality

I create tools that can be used in everyday life, and not only understood in theory.

Understanding

I am not trying to change a neurodivergent person into a neurotypical person. I am helping to better understand myself and my own way of functioning.
