About evil that always has a history — and always comes back
Drzwi są zamknięte,
ale coś już tu było —
klucz nie ma znaczenia.
About a world where evil never comes out of nowhere
Films such as The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and the unfolding stories Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, Annabelle Comes Home, The Nun and The Nun II create a cohesive world in which evil is not an accident.
This universe, developed by creators such as James Wan, John R. Leonetti and Michael Chaves, is based on one consistent principle:
nothing appears suddenly.
Every evil has its source.
And its consequences.
These are not films just about scaring. These are stories about the fact that certain things stay. In objects. In places. In people.
And sometimes it is enough to move them.
Paweł: What remains after contact
Not everything that looks innocent is safe. Sometimes something looks at it from a place where there should be no life and waits. You feel it behind your back, you turn around and see nothing, but the presence stays and does not let you sleep peacefully. There are places that remember more than people. History does not disappear, it leaves traces in the walls, in the air, in what we feel without words. Can you see what was in the things that surround you? Are you aware of what is hidden in them? Not every voice is yours, sometimes it says something through silence, through you. You don't always make decisions, something influences your choices and the question remains: where does responsibility end?
The world is full of what can scare. Sooner or later, you have to look into what you are afraid of. Not to win, but to stop running away. It is best to tame fear, turn on the light and look carefully at what you are afraid of. Then you can tame it. Not everything can be destroyed, some things need to be closed, boundaries and learn to live with them. Despite their presence, you can stop being afraid.
Agnieszka: Boundaries that don't always protect
I look at The Conjuring Universe as a story about boundaries.
About what we let into our world — consciously or not.
From the perspective of a person on the spectrum, the topic of security resonates particularly strongly here. The need for predictability. The belief that the space in which we are is stable and under control.
These videos do the opposite.
They show that even the most "safe" place can cease to be one. That a home does not always protect. That things that seem neutral can carry something more.
And that boundaries are not always enough.
For me, it's not just a story about demons.
It's a story about how easy it is to lose your sense of security.
And how difficult it is to get them back later.
Because when something violates your space — physical or mental — a trace remains.
Even if you can't see anything anymore.
