Alternate realities-autistic alien Maga-Tenth version-social experiment-New Multiverse-Otherworld project-Professor P duplicate-Relations between worlds

A report from a space observer:
Analysis of an event where multiple versions of the same experiment participants occur simultaneously

When you discover that you are not the only one, the question stops being "who am I" and starts being "which of us remembers the truth"

Dziesiąta przyszła.
Nikt nie planował jej tu.
Cisza się boi.

Start of Write [object P × many]

I wasn't scared.

This is probably not the reaction that people would expect.

The professor froze.

I don't.

I was surprised, yes. Curious. Even a little worried.

But not scared.

Because when you feel a bit like a visitor from another planet all your life, you learn one thing very quickly:

The reality is rarely as simple as others claim.

First observations

Several couples were sitting at the table.

Several.

Not one.

Not two.

Several.

Each consisted of a professor and an alien.

Some were older than us.

Others looked younger.

One version of the professor had gray hair.

One of the versions of me had shorter ones.

Another wore glasses that I had never seen before.

But the strangest thing was something else.

Everyone looked at us as if they already knew that we were coming.

Social anomaly

The woman who pointed out the seats at the table looked ordinary.

This immediately aroused my distrust.

In these types of stories, the most dangerous people usually look completely ordinary.

"Sit down," she said calmly.

The professor looked at me.

We sat down.

For a moment no one said anything.

And then one of the other Mages spoke first.

"How far have you come?"

It was a very strange question.

Not "who you are."

Not "where you come from."

Not "whether everything is okay".

How far have you come.

Hypothesis seven: they are not copies

The professor was apparently thinking about clones.

I don't.

A clone is a copy.

Repeat.

By duplicate.

These people did not behave like copies.

They were too different.

They had other gestures.

Different views.

Other ways to sit.

They were not copies.

These were versions.

First Answer

"I don't understand," said the professor.

The woman nodded.

"You answered the same thing the first time.

The professor frowned.

"The first time?"

It became quiet at the table.

Very quiet.

So quiet that I could hear the ticking of an old clock hanging on the wall.

Critical information

The gray-haired professor put his hands on the table.

"You must understand one thing," he said.

"What is it?"

He looked at me first.

Then to the professor.

And he answered:

"This is not the first version of this match.

Crack

The professor turned pale.

I felt something much worse.

Diagnosis.

Because suddenly I remembered something I had never remembered before.

Short image.

An old house.

Wooden table.

The professor sitting next to me.

Exactly the same.

Exactly in the same place.

Memory anomaly

The image disappeared as quickly as it appeared.

But it was enough.

It was not a memory.

He was an echo.

As if my mind remembers something it has never experienced.

I looked at one of the other Mages sitting by the window.

She looked at me.

Take it easy.

With compassion.

Like someone who knows exactly what I just saw.

Final note

"How many of us are there?" I asked.

No one answered right away.

The woman standing at the end of the table looked towards the closed door.

Then on us again.

And she said very quietly:

"Only yesterday I would have said that nine couples.

The room fell silent.

"Only yesterday?" The professor asked.

The woman nodded.

And then the door leading to the hall opened.

The Observer ran inside.

This time he really looked terrified.

"It's too late," he said.

"They found the tenth version.

And then for the first time I saw that everyone at the table was afraid.
