We sat in a room full of different versions of ourselves. These people didn't behave like copies. They were too different, younger, older, with different hairstyles. It turned out that this was not the first meeting of this type. This is another variant of something that has already happened and that we actually began to associate in flashes of memory. In the silence, a very strange question sounded:

"How far have you come?"

I didn't understand what was going on, and apparently I reacted the same way the first time. The first time? I didn't have time to think about it when a visibly frightened Observer ran into the room. I was shocked that everyone present clearly began to be scared after what he said:

"It's too late. They've found the tenth version.

The gathered people began to discuss loudly and even shout at each other. And at that moment Maga, this Maga of mine surprised me and everyone with a loud shout (although there was not even a shadow of emotion in it).

"Silence! Can anyone tell us what is going on here?"

The company fell silent. Another Maga spoke. The one who asked how far we had come. She said that the creators of the experiment wanted to study how our relationships would turn out in different circumstances. All the couples, unbeknownst to them, repeated the same pattern: distance and mutual observation, establishing relationships and developing attachment, then a crisis, and finally a forced separation made by the creators. They wanted to study all the anomalies and conflicts generated by the two different ways of functioning of the members of each couple. We reached the stage of attachment. In order to collect as much data as possible, they created many alternative versions of the same couple. How many? We don't know. We were the ninth to go over to the side of the "rebellion", i.e. rebellious couples, and we have just found out that the creators found and captured the tenth who decided to join us. That is, they were faster and more effective in fighting the "rebellion". After all, they were already on our heels, and they caught the next ones after us in no time. So far, they have managed to clear the memory of the participants at a distance, which is why there were already various variants of meetings of rebellious couples. As you can see, this did not bring results in the long run, so the creators decided to grab the "defective copies" and eliminate them.

The alliance of rebellious pairs of participants in the experiment created two dimensions of cooperation. One is the empathetic one consisting of Professors P., and the other is the logical one, i.e. all versions of Maga. The goal was to interrupt the experiment, destroy all the data and release the remaining participants, whose location and number were unknown. To realize these intentions, they had a plan, the most important element of which was us, that is, my Maga and me. And that's because I turned out to be the most flawed "copy" of the research project. Why me? Because with my way of perceiving, experiencing and reacting, I caused such a synchronization between me and Maga that we began to harmonize and behave in the same way. Which, in turn, prompted her to break her patterns of functioning. Other couples also came to this, but we did it in a much faster time. In our case, it happened instantly. This contradicted the idea of the experiment and exposed its creators to losing the ability to control us. And at the same time, it gave hope for achieving a new dimension of interspecies relationship, which no one dreamed of.
